Expect to journey through time to discover a rare collection of gilt-decorated lacquer from the 18th to 19th century and recent works by 13 promising contemporary artists.
This exhibition creates an immersive and interactive experience with digital technologies, offering you a unique perspective to explore the beauty of traditional Chinese craftsmanship and understand the techniques and tools involved in the creation process of gilt-decorated lacquerware — from jewellery cabinets and tea boxes of the 18th century to hand-painted courtyard scene fans and bookcases of 19th century, the exhibition is complemented by immersive audio and visual experiences that celebrate the contemporary resurgence of traditional crafts.
